I'm getting started with cheesemaking and I'd like to estimate my yields. How many litres of milk does it take to make 1 kg of cheese?

It depends on the type of cheese: around 8 to 10 litres for a hard cheese, versus 4 to 6 litres for a fresh or soft cheese.
